Broadcast · Live production for sport and shows

Live production without compromise.

Host broadcasting, unilateral facilities and specialist camera systems for broadcasters, rights holders, federations, clubs and organisers – with two HD OB vans of our own and a crew that knows what match day takes.

Broadcast

Live for broadcasters, rights holders and organisers.

We produce live broadcasts for TV channels, streaming services, rights holders, federations, clubs and organisers – as host broadcaster with our own OB van, or as a technical partner supplying whatever the production still lacks.

As host broadcaster we produce the world feed of an event and supply the broadcasters taking the feed with everything else they need – from an additional camera to a fully equipped commentary position.

Often we also complement an existing production: a pitch-side presenter, a complete studio show, replay positions, RF cameras or a crane for match day. OB van, specialist camera systems and crew come from a single source – that keeps planning and coordination simple and makes the production reliable.

What we commit to, we deliver – even when nothing on site goes to plan.

Our base is Langenhagen near Hanover in Lower Saxony, and OB vans HD1 and HD2 work throughout Germany – on league match days in football, basketball, ice hockey and American football, at handball and archery competitions of the European federations as well as at international competitions such as the UEFA Women’s Champions League. If you are looking to hire an OB van, we supply van and crew from a single source: as a host production delivering the world feed, or as unilateral facilities for your own channel.

Services

From host broadcasting to small-scale unilateral facilities.

Three ways of working with us – and any mix in between. You decide how much your production needs – van, equipment and crew.

Monitor showing the world feed “FEED A” at the camera position in the stadium

Host broadcasting service

Producing the world feed.

As host broadcaster we produce the world feeds of international sports events – from the camera plan through direction, slow motion and graphics to handover to the broadcasters taking the feed. We work with international teams and handle unilateral requests through a bespoke rate card: additional cameras, positions, signals and commentary positions.

For broadcasters and streaming services we also take on complete programmes – as a series or as a one-off event.

Unilateral facilities & equipment

Exactly what is missing.

Not every production needs the whole van. We provide what your programme is missing – from a small pitch-side presentation position to a complete studio show with additional pitch-side cameras and commentary positions.

  • Pitch-side presenter with camera and audio
  • Additional camera channels and positions
  • Replay positions with EVS operator
  • Studio show in the stadium or arena
  • RF cameras and specialist camera systems

Commentary positions & studio

Voice and pictures for the match.

We provide fully equipped commentary positions – with Riedel CCP-1116 commentary units, intercom via Riedel Artist and Bolero, and the line to the broadcaster via SIP or ISDN codec. One position or several, as part of the world feed or unilateral.

Then there is the on-site studio: presentation and analysis pitch-side or in the stands with dedicated cameras and audio – as part of the host production or as a stand-alone service for a single broadcaster.

Specialist camera systems

More angles for your production.

Every production deserves pictures you won’t get from just any stand. This is the kit we bring – with an operator on request and integrated into the live workflow.

  • Shoulder-mounted camera in action in the arena

    RF cameras

Wireless system cameras, handheld or on a Steadicam: full freedom of movement, quick changes of position and no trip hazards for players, guests and spectators.

  • Camera crane in the ice arena

    Camera crane

The right crane for every location – from a compact jib with a 3 m arm to the TechnoCrane with a reach of up to 15 m. Always with an experienced crew on the crane.

  • Gimbal camera at an interview with an American football player

    DSLR gimbal

Full-frame camera on a gimbal for smooth, floating moves – fully integrated into the live workflow with tally, intercom and vision control.

  • Railcam on a track in front of the perimeter boards

    Robotics

Remote-controlled cameras in places no camera crew would fit – from the Railcam along the perimeter boards to the Towercam. Precise moves, repeatable positions.

  • Cable camera above the stadium

    Birdscam

The cable camera above the pitch flies where no other camera can go: overhead passes, tracking shots and wide shots from the air.

  • ARRI camera for live use

    Live cinematic

Complete live production with a cinematic look: ARRI 35 Live in the proven broadcast workflow – for events and broadcasts that are meant to look different.

  • FPV drone with controller

    Live drone

Aerial shots fed live into the programme – from a calm wide shot above the venue to a fast FPV drone close to the action.

Questions and answers

What you want to know before you enquire.

The most common questions about OB vans, cameras, slow motion and how things work – answered briefly. Everything else we settle in conversation.

How many cameras do the vans run?
HD1 is designed for up to 12 cameras, HD2 for up to 8. Both vans can be combined, for instance for host production and unilateral facilities at the same venue.
What slow motion is on board?
Up to three EVS positions: two EVS VIA in HD1, one eight-channel EVS VIA in HD2 – plus an EVS X-File or X-File3 in each van.
Host production or unilateral facilities?
Both. As host broadcaster we produce the world feed and serve the broadcasters taking it via a rate card with additional cameras, positions, signals and commentary positions. As a provider of unilateral facilities we supply whatever your production is missing – from a pitch-side presentation position to a complete studio programme.
Which vision mixers and video routers do the vans have?
HD1: Sony XVS-G1 with 4 M/E and a 144 × 72 3G-SDI router. HD2: Grass Valley Kula with 2 M/E plus 2 Sub-M/E and a 120 × 120 12G/3G/HD-SDI router.
Do you set up commentary positions?
Yes, completely: Riedel CCP-1116 commentary units, intercom via Riedel Artist and Bolero, the line to the broadcaster via SIP or ISDN codec – one position or several, in the world feed or unilateral.
What do the vans need on site?
A parking space for 12 m (HD1) or 9 m (HD2) of vehicle length and a 32 A CEE power connection.
Where do you work?
We are based in Langenhagen near Hanover; the vans travel throughout Germany. Our productions include league match days in football, basketball, ice hockey and American football, European handball competitions as well as international competitions such as the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Which specialist camera systems can you integrate?
RF cameras, camera crane, Railcam and Towercam, Birdscam, DSLR gimbal, live drone and live cinematic with ARRI 35 Live – with an operator on request and integrated into the live workflow.
